Execution sequence

  1. Identify the two exercises in their listed order and prepare the equipment.
  2. Perform the first exercise, then transition safely to the second.
  3. Rest after the complete pair and repeat that pair for the prescribed number of sets.

Reading a program example

Dumbbell lateral raise + dumbbell front raise, 3×(12+12), means three rounds: twelve repetitions of the first exercise and twelve of the second per round. Time-based targets apply separately to their matching exercises.

Important distinction

The exercises can target the same or different muscle groups. A pair is not automatically an antagonist pair. Loads are independent, and a superset can feel more demanding than separate sets.

Check before starting

  • Do not reverse exercise order or the corresponding targets.
  • Arrange equipment without obstructing other users or walking routes.
  • Ask for an alternative if a safe transition is not possible.

Frequently asked questions

Is any pause between the exercises allowed?

Allow the time needed for a safe transition. Removing usual working rest does not mean rushing unsafely.

What does 3×(12+12) mean?

Three complete pairs: twelve repetitions of the first exercise, then twelve of the second in each pair.
